Ever done a lap with H-Pattern turned on and Auto Clutch turned off? It’s literally a dance, feet constantly moving.

I tried that once when I had a steering wheel, in some other game. Didn’t like it. The thing has no feedback when you shift too fast and mess it up, so the game would just ignore the shift even though the shifter is physically in the spot. So then you’re slamming the clutch in and wrenching the shifter out of and into gear repeatedly trying to get the game to recognize.

Makes a huge disconnect between real life and the game.

What wheel and what game? I never had an issue with my G25 in GT Legends, GTR2, rFactor, pCars (through December 2014 build, haven’t played since then), iRacing, Race 07, or Grand Prix Legends (with H-pattern mod).

I had a gated shifter on my G25 and I tried it a few times, but never got comfortable with it. If they ever develop a force feedback shifter and clutch I’ll get one, but it’s just the paddles for now.

I’ve used the clutch a bunch on iRacing, but that was before they had the Nordschleife.

You need to calibrate your clutch properly and this should not happen anymore. It used to happen to me also, many moons ago, once the clutch was properly set, everything was fine.

Oh okay. I just assumed I was making mistakes. But in a real car, the same mistakes usually mean that the gear lever resists and it’s not a big deal.

Thanks! Unfortunately I returned the wheel as it was defective, and it was the last in stock so I had to get a refund.

It was a G25, I think I did some Gran Turismo 6. Not as patrician as your sims I’m afraid :(

Nah, we ran sim races in 1971 F1 cars, and on my own I ran a few laps in Can-Am cars, old school beasts are where it’s at.

I don’t think you meant to reply to me...

I did, I’ve never ran an Atom around the Nordschleife in a racing game, that’s why I replied to you.

are the dynamics and track feel as good or better than GT6 with the PS3/G27 with Project Cars? I know the ring well with that combo. I plan on grabbing the G29/PS4 combo soon.

I would say they are comparable, but PCars has a more positive grip feeling (it feels grippier). It’s a decent sim. Their ‘ring is pretty close, there will be a couple of corners that feel a little different at first, but you’ll know where you’re going.
